A few of you for fall classes have been asking what should I be doing while we are waiting for school to start here are a few suggestions:
Practice writing names correctly, capital first initial then lowercase.
Purchase or make a set of ABC flash cards. Start with the letters in child's name then pull a new ones as they start to remember them.
Make an alphabet strip: say (not sing) the ABC's as you point to the appropriate letter.
Purchase or make math flash cards
Practice math skills in your daily routines, while cooking, folding laundry and getting dressed ect...
Read. As you read ask questions, point to the words and make it fun.
